Multan
International Airport is located in a heavily settled area of Multan Cantonment
and is jointly used Airport by CAA and PAF. The airside is confined in the:
o
East,
by present building, managements, office and army structure.
o
West,
by PAF and Army Aviation setup.
o
North,
by open PAF land behind which there is some open private land.
o
South,
by the camp ridge road & Military Hospital.
Runway History
o
1941
brick soling 1463 meters long(4800ft).
o
1956
Cement slabs were overlaid on that.
o
1963,it
was carpeted with bituminous material.
o
1971,it
was extended to 2744 meters (9000ft)as flexible surface.
o
1980
it was again strengthened with re-carpeting.
o Presently Runway completed New and operating with new length 10500 ft and 150 ft wide.
